Second #reWINE Tasting
On Thursday 12 December we will hold the second reWINE Tastet to present how the pilot test of the project is being developed, which aims to reuse 100,000 bottles of wine in Catalonia.
During the second #reWINE Tastet, we will present current results of the pilot test and how consumers can help give bottles a new use and thus reduce waste generation. The event will be facilitated by Núria Vila (@nu_vila), sustainable graphic designer from Granollers, and there will be a tasting with bottles of Ètim El Viatge wines, from the Falset Marçà Cooperative, and Viña Sol, from Cellers Torres.
More than 30 shops, 50 restaurants, 3 landfills and seven Catalan wineries (the Cooperativa Falset Marçà, Cellers Torres, Albet i Noya, la Vinyeta, Talcomraja, Vins Pravi and Mas Argany) are taking part in the pilot test of the project. To date, reWINE has recovered more than 60,000 bottles of wine in Catalonia, a figure that is estimated to be able to avoid 20 tons of waste. In addition, preliminary studies developed within the framework of the project show that the reuse of bottles means a saving between 0.56 kg of CO2 and 2.3 kg of CO2 per bottle, after 8 uses.
